Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She's covered events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of shows that were pre-showarrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
