The months of summer 2021 introduce a brand new degree of uncertainty about how we can continue the vital human connections enjoyed by Rotary in years past. Although the mantra of "hands-face-space" will certainly be commonplace in our club, it is evident that trust is growing and more people are making face-to-face connections. Rotary has indeed changed. While we are in the summer of 2021, there remains a continuing level of uncertainty regarding how our service to society will be able to include the essential human connection experienced by Rotary members of the past. Although the mantra of hands face space' will undoubtedly be part of our ongoing routine it is apparent that confidence is building and more face-to-face connections are happening. Rotary's face has changed. The Rotary network helps build relationships that last. The Pandemic was our catalyst to embrace technology. In order to keep our meetings online, we've reintroduced service as well as social activities in a secure environment that is a face-to-face. These new options are paired with our most effective pre-pandemic strategies to provide a fresh and promising future for Rotary. Recently an Rotary survey found that 75% were making plans for business as usual. Listen to this story 1. Amanda Watkin is the General Secretary of Rotary Magazine. It was great to find out that during an earlier Rotary survey that 75% of the participants were looking forward to their normal programs and community-based projects that had previously been helpful to communities throughout Great Britain. Furthermore, I'm extremely happy to see that our Rotary Support Team is continuing to provide valuable resources in order to promote and help with the various initiatives. They also maintain infrastructures that keep members safe and protect the public. Both compliance and insurance is important. Our members' creativity and ingenuity when finding solutions to some of the toughest challenges is astonishing. I am thankful for the chance Rotary gave me with in 2002, to be an active part of the club. Rotary is also able to provide me with an excellent circle of friends that are like-minded. I am grateful for this. Everyone should invite their friends and family to join Rotary to really make a difference.
